A constant current topic: the voting and voting rights for foreigners living in Switzerland. Totally absurd or sensible? New to chance a change or not? These questions will have to be addressed. In the end, must be considered in determining whether ethical or strategic arguments count more.
Some facts about this topic:
- Many foreigners who come to Switzerland come from, because this country is known for its more direct democracy. This target group is very interested in political participation. However, one should consider the whole thing from a strategic point of view: who performs outside of Switzerland, a survey on political issues, will quickly find that the average mind there is better on average than that in this country. Therefore, it would be interesting in what sense it would be an asset to the people to get new voters.
